Episode 102: Rebecca Cutter

This episode of Conversations with Ross features Rebecca Cutter.  Rebecca is a writer on The Mentalist and the writer/director of the independent film Besties. Rebecca discussed the highs and lows of being a working television writer.  She talked about breaking in, her first experience in a writers room, and breaking the rejection cycle.
Rebecca talked about how each episode of The Mentalist comes together, and her past work as show creator Bruno Heller’s assistant. A role that required her to read every submission spec that was sent his way.
Rebecca also spoke about her film Besties and detailed how it came together from script to screen.
This is an honest look inside the life of a working television writer.
