Episode 171. Financial Confidence At Any Age With Chantal McNeily
My very special guest today is Chantal McNeily and we talk about financial confidence, a topic we haven't discussed much on this podcast yet.
Chantal offers not only a female perspective on the topic, but also a very empowering one.
We talk about going beyond having knowledge of your finances, all the way to trusting yourself to take action.
We also chat about the beautiful connection between our physical and our financial health, as well as the overlaps between our weight release and our financial wealth journeys.
Our conversation goes beyond just our bank accounts, which is an important message for women to hear as well as practice.
Chantal and I also discuss the topic of wealth itself, as building wealth is just half of the journey. She does a brilliant job at explaining what happens at the second half and how to navigate the financial reality of retirement.
Chantal is driven by her three guiding principles of integrity, authenticity and impact. Chantal has spent almost two decades in the financial services industry, but her roots in the industry go back over four decades. Growing up as the daughter of a financial advisor, Chantal was exposed the the wealth management business from a young age. Chantal has worked at some of the largest wealth management firms in the world as has had the opportunity to live and work across North America.
Chantal is passionate about addressing the three main gender gaps that affect women as it relates to money: the gender advice gap, the gender investing gap and the gender security gap. Through her curious nature and innovative research on this topic, she was nominated by Wealth Professional Canada as Woman Innovator of the Year in 2018 and Diversity Ambassador of the Year by Women in Finance in 2019. In 2020, Chantal was awarded a Discretionary Management Award her firms leadership team and in 2021, she received an Executive Leadership Award awarded to women who have made exceptional contributions to the firm and demonstrate outstanding work.
