Since overcoming “burnout” and successfully beating advanced cancer, “Patient Lee” Tomlinson has been a man on a mission. A mission to reveal and reverse the catastrophic crisis caused by the rapid disappearance of compassion in healthcare. The absence of which has a hugely negative and sometimes fatal impact on patients and the far too often burned-out healthcare professionals who treat us.
Why? To insure that every patient gets treatment by equally medically competent and compassionate professionals. Which science has proven beyond any doubt must, MUST be present for the best, quickest patient outcomes and long-term health.
On his new Podcast, “Compassion Heals” “Patient Lee” will interview people on all sides of that crisis.
Patients, who have received exceptionally kind, caring and compassionate treatment during their medical interventions and its positive impact not only on their physical health, but also their mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. And, those who haven’t received compassionate care during treatment and the impact of that on their lives.
Plus, "Patient Lee” will be interviewing healthcare professionals from every aspect of the profession, including doctors, nurses, scientists, and other healthcare professionals to reveal the immense challenges and stress each faces daily. Which has caused 60+ percent of them to burn-out, being unable to share compassionate care with their patients or themselves.
Lastly, “Patient Lee” will seek to discover and reveal what you and I can do to avoid this life-threatening lack of compassion when we or a loved one face a serious medical challenge. And how we can better support our healthcare professionals to help them avoid burning-out so they’re able to be their most competent and compassionate selves when we need them the most.
“Patient Lee” Pre-Cancer Professional History:
Prior to his diagnosis and deeply challenging battle and recovery from advanced throat cancer, “Patient Lee” was an owner/operator of the famed century-old Culver Studios in Hollywood and co-developer of the Albuquerque Studios in New Mexico. Prior to that, Lee was the creator and Executive Producer of a decade-long series of 3-hour CBS Primetime TV Specials celebrating the best movies and actor/actresses from the first century of American movies. And, in doing so, raised tens of millions of dollars to help fund the American Film Institute efforts to “advance and preserve the art of the moving image”.
Before getting into the entertainment industry Lee was the VP of Marketing for the US Olympic Festival a bi-annual event featuring all of America’s top Olympic hopefuls in a competition to help them qualify for and compete in the immediately following global Olympics.
Early-on in his career, Lee was one of the first US businessmen in 20 years invited to do business in China, which expanded to include business in Hong Kong and the Philippines. Followed by a five-year adventure as a world-ranked professional tennis player.
