Elisabette Calero is known as the high priestess of culture in Puerto Rico. At 14 she joined the Boston Ballet, the launch for a storied career traveling the world as a ballerina. Her many experiences included teaching ballet to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She wanted to bring the joy and culture of dance to Puerto Rico. Calero brought in top teachers so anyone could learn dance, enhancing many lives with culture, joy, and new ways of expression. She formed an unlikely alliance with housing expert Kent Watkins to connect culture and housing to grow community wellbeing.
Dance is a unique healer. Giving someone a sense of place, community, and expression can develop potential and transform lives.
