The band recently wrapped up auditions for a new drummer, made the bold decision to go independent after fulfilling their record contract, and crowdfunded nearly $400,000 to help launch the next chapter of their career. We spoke with bassist Jared Smith about the technical side of his playing, the challenge of maintaining precision and stamina at breakneck speeds, and his Custom Shop Z3 6-string bass.
