Come Follow Me July 12-18 Doctrine and Covenants 77-80  

In Section 78, the Lord revealed that He wanted an organization that could watch over the storehouse and printing press. This organization came to be known as the United Firm. Unfortunately, two years later, it failed because of mounting debt. How could the Lord let His organization fail so quickly? While this may have a been a great trial of faith for those immediately involved, we can look back from our day and find a parable for our very lives. The Lord may have let the organization fail, but processes morphed and became reinvented and changed until the church became "independent above all other creatures beneath the celestial world." Though we may fail and need to be reinvented in the process, the Lord will lead us along to our eventual goals.
