Hey there, weather watchers! Let's dive into the nautical forecasts for Florida's coastal waters.
For the area from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef and East Cape Sable to Bonita Beach, we're looking at winds calming down to a moderate to fresh breeze. High pressure hanging out over the Southeast U.S. will bring cautionary conditions over the Atlantic waters mid to late week. Be mindful of those gusts around 20-30 knots and seas ranging from 4 to 6 feet today, especially if you're out there bobbing along the Gulf Stream.
Now, for the specifics - if you find yourself cruising from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, or from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef, small craft should be cautious. Today, expect northeast winds around 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots with seas hitting 3 to 5 feet. Keep an eye out for a chance of showers but nothing too soaking. Tonight, winds ease to 10 to 15 knots. Tomorrow, the gentle breeze continues with seas between 2 to 4 feet.
And for the areas from Chokoloskee to Bonita Beach and surrounding waters, also small craft caution advised. North winds at 10 to 15 knots today, calming down by Thursday afternoon. Seas staying around 2 to 3 feet, and waters inland should be a light chop.
On Lake Okeechobee, small craft should also take it easy. Today, north winds shifting to northeast, making the waters a moderate chop with a sprinkle or two possible.
Biscayne Bay folks, expect north winds at 10 to 15 knots today, transitioning to northeast tomorrow. Choppy conditions at times, so be prepared.
