Hey there fellow weather enthusiasts! Let's dive into what's happening out on the waters of Florida with our Coastal Waters Forecast from the National Weather Service in Miami.
For those along the Atlantic coast from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef and in the Gulf from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee, here's the scoop:
Today, we're looking at northwest winds around 10 to 15 miles per hour with seas ranging from 2 to 4 feet, occasionally up to 5 feet. There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, transitioning to likely showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Heading into Wednesday, expect a shift to southeast winds increasing to 20 to 25 miles per hour in the afternoon with seas building to 3 to 5 feet, occasionally up to 6 feet. Showers and thunderstorms are expected, especially in the afternoon.
Now, here's where it gets interesting - Tropical storm conditions are possible in the Gulf waters on Wednesday, and then moving to our Atlantic waters Wednesday night into Thursday. So batten down the hatches!
Please take note that a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect. And keep an eye out for hazardous to dangerous marine conditions in the middle and late week period as winds and seas ramp up ahead of Hurricane Milton.
So, stay safe out there, keep an eye on the updates, and remember, for more detailed information, you can always check us out via the link in the show notes.
