Hey there, folks! Time for your Florida coastal waters weather report for the next few days. I'm here to give you the lowdown without all the confusing jargon.
So, here's the scoop: we're looking at a mix of easterly to southeasterly breezes hovering around 10 knots, which is about 11.5 miles per hour, for the start of the weekend. Expect some scattered thunderstorms in the mix that could bring locally hazardous winds and seas.
In terms of the Gulf Stream, no hazards to worry about there - which is always a plus. The Gulf Stream is hanging out around 6 to 11 nautical miles east of various reference points, so keep that in mind if you're cruising around.
For today, tomorrow, and beyond, anticipate easterly winds continuing around 10 to 15 miles per hour with seas ranging from 2 to 4 feet, occasional spikes up to 5 feet. We might see some showers and thunderstorms popping up, so keep an eye out for those.
For Lake Okeechobee, Biscayne Bay, and various coastal waters segments, similar conditions are on the horizon with a mix of winds, choppy waters, and spotty showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend and into early next week.
