Alright folks, time for a dive into your coastal waters forecast for Florida brought to you by the National Weather Service in Miami.

So, here's the scoop for the day - we've got Hurricane Helene stirring up some trouble out there, bringing in dangerous winds and seas across the board. Hold onto your hats as Helene bounces around the eastern Gulf of Mexico into the Southeastern part of the country. Things should simmer down as we roll into the weekend.

For the specifics, expect south winds kicking it up to 25 to 35 miles per hour, with seas building to 7 to 9 feet, occasionally reaching 11 feet. Showers and storms likely, especially in the morning. Then tonight, those gusts could reach a wild 45 miles per hour, with seas hitting 8 to 11 feet. Yikes, hold onto your lawn furniture!

As we move into Friday, winds should calm down a bit to 25 to 30 miles per hour, with seas subsiding to 6 to 8 feet. By Friday night, winds easing further to 15 to 20 miles per hour with seas calming down to 3 to 5 feet.

For the folks inland near Lake Okeechobee, brace yourselves. Southeast winds cranking up to 30 to 40 miles per hour this afternoon, making those waters extremely rough. Showers and storms on the menu for today and tomorrow, so keep that umbrella handy.

Remember, Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect, so stay safe out there, folks. And if you want more details, check out the link in our show notes.

Thank you for listening and make sure to subscribe to never miss an update. Stay safe and dry out there!
