For the Atlantic coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef out to 60 nautical miles, and the Gulf coastal waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee out 20 nautical miles and Chokoloskee to Bonita Beach out 60 nautical miles, here's what you need to know:
We've got some moderate easterly winds sticking around this week, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms making an appearance daily. Be prepared for some choppy seas at times due to this activity. Expect seas at 3 feet or less across the Atlantic waters and 2 feet or less across the Gulf waters.
As for the Gulf Stream, no hazards are expected there. And if you're wondering, the west wall of the Gulf Stream is currently located in various spots, so make sure to be aware of your surroundings.
Now, let's break it down for different areas:
For Coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 20 nautical miles, and from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach from 20 to 60 nautical miles:
Today brings east winds around 10 knots with seas around 2 feet. There's a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, with showers likely and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. Tonight, similar conditions persist with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Turning to Lake Okeechobee, expect east winds at 5 to 10 knots with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and likely in the afternoon.
And for our friends on Biscayne Bay, today we're looking at east winds around 10 knots with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms. Tonight, a chance of showers continues with a chance of thunderstorms.
