Hey there folks, it's time for your Florida Coastal Waters Forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Miami. Let's dive in and see what Mother Nature has in store for us.
For the Atlantic coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef out to 60 nautical miles and Gulf coastal waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee, we're looking at moderate easterly winds around 10 to 15 miles per hour sticking around for the next few days. Expect some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms popping up, which might make the seas a bit choppy at times. Sees are hanging out at 2 feet or less, so nothing too crazy out there.
Don't worry about the Gulf Stream, no hazards to report there, just keep your eyes open. If you're curious about the Gulf Stream's exact location, you can find that data thanks to the Naval Oceanographic Office.
Down around Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, we're seeing those easterly winds sticking around 10 to 15 miles per hour. Seas are in the 2 to 3 feet range, so it might get a bit bumpy. Keep an eye out for some showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.
Over at Lake Okeechobee, things are looking pretty calm with easterly winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. The lake waters are smooth, but there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms later on.
Biscayne Bay is experiencing some easterly winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour, creating a moderate chop on the water. Keep an umbrella handy for those likely showers and thunderstorms.
