Hey there, folks! Time for your Florida Coastal Waters Forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Miami. Let's dive right in.
Heads up, we've got some rough seas today along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts due to Hurricane Debby. So, if you're hitting the waters, be cautious and check out the latest Marine Weather Warning for the deets.
For Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach, we're talking about winds from the south at 15 to 20 miles per hour, with some gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Seas 3 to 5 feet, maybe hitting 6, with a moderate chop on the intracoastal waters. Showers and thunderstorms likely today, so plan accordingly.
Now, if you're cruising from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef, expect similar conditions with seas around 2 to 4 feet and a moderate chop. Showers and storms still on the menu, so keep that umbrella handy.
Down in Chokoloskee to Bonita Beach waters, small craft advisory is in effect. With southwest winds at 20 to 25 miles per hour, gusting up to 30, and seas 4 to 6 feet, occasionally 8, it's a bit bumpy out there. Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially in the morning.
For our friends on Lake Okeechobee, hang on tight with those south winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour, choppy waters, and showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Small craft advisory in effect until late morning.
In Biscayne Bay, small craft advisory also in play with south winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour and a moderate chop. Showers and storms on the horizon, so keep an eye out.
