Hey there folks, welcome to your Coastal Waters Forecast for Florida, brought to you by the National Weather Service in Miami. Let's dive right in!
Starting off with the Atlantic and Gulf coastal waters, today we can expect gentle east-southeasterly winds, with a possibility of afternoon shifts to the southwest mainly over the Gulf waters. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are on the horizon, so keep an eye out for those enhanced winds and waves in stormy areas.
Moving on to specific locations:
Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 20 nautical miles:
- Today, south-southeast winds at 5 to 10 knots with seas less than 2 feet. Chance of afternoon showers and storms.
- Tonight, southwest winds around 5 knots with seas around 2 feet or less.
- Monday brings more south winds around 5 knots, followed by a chance of showers and storms.
- Things look pretty consistent through the early part of the week, with a continued chance of showers and storms each day.
If you're near Lake Okeechobee, expect similar conditions with chances of showers and thunderstorms likely throughout the week. And don't forget about Biscayne Bay, where the chance of showers and storms ramp up as we head into the afternoon.
