Calm Seas and Gentle Winds Forecast for South Florida Coastal Waters

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a comprehensive coastal waters forecast predicting stable maritime conditions across South Florida this weekend and into early next week. High pressure currently positioned over Florida will gradually shift westward, creating a consistent pattern of gentle easterly winds and mild sea conditions.

Gulf Stream positioning remains notable, with its western wall located strategically near key coastal landmarks. Specifically, the Gulf Stream edge runs approximately one nautical mile northeast of Fowey Rocks, ten nautical miles northeast of Port Everglades, three nautical miles east-northeast of Lake Worth, and six nautical miles east-northeast of Jupiter Inlet.

Mariners can expect predominantly east winds ranging between 5 to 10 knots across various coastal zones, including waters from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef and from East Cape Sable to Bonita Beach. Seas will generally remain around two feet or less, with wave periods typically between three to six seconds.

The forecast suggests minimal shower and thunderstorm activity through the weekend, with precipitation chances gradually increasing Monday through Wednesday. Intracoastal waters are expected to experience light chop, and marine environments from Biscayne Bay to Lake Okeechobee will maintain similarly tranquil conditions.

Boaters and maritime enthusiasts should anticipate consistent, predictable weather patterns with light winds shifting subtly from easterly to southeasterly directions as the week progresses. While current conditions appear stable, mariners are advised to monitor updates and be prepared for potential thunderstorm development later in the week.
