Calm Seas and Gentle Winds Forecast for Florida Coastal Waters

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a comprehensive coastal waters forecast predicting serene maritime conditions across Florida's Atlantic and Gulf coastal regions through early next week.

From Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef and extending out to 60 nautical miles, mariners can expect light to moderate easterly to southeasterly winds. The Gulf Stream currently sits just offshore, with its western wall located between 6 to 7 nautical miles from various coastal landmarks including Fowey Rocks and Port Everglades.

Today's marine conditions reveal seas around 2 feet with winds ranging from 5 to 10 knots. Intracoastal waters will experience light chop, providing relatively comfortable navigation conditions. Wave periods are short, predominantly ranging between 3 to 4 seconds, indicating consistent but gentle wave patterns.

Weekend forecasts suggest continued tranquil weather. Sunday anticipates even calmer conditions with winds potentially dropping to around 5 knots and seas less than 2 feet. Intracoastal waters are expected to become increasingly smooth.

Looking ahead to Monday through Wednesday, a slight increase in wind speeds is predicted. Southeasterly winds may reach 10 to 15 knots with occasional gusts up to 20 knots. Correspondingly, seas are expected to build to 2 to 3 feet, still maintaining relatively comfortable maritime conditions.

Specific areas like Lake Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay will experience similar mild conditions, with light winds and predominantly smooth waters. Boaters and marine enthusiasts can anticipate a pleasant maritime environment across Florida's coastal regions.

No significant Gulf Stream hazards are currently reported, ensuring safe and enjoyable marine activities throughout the forecast period.
