Hey there friends, it's time for your East Central Florida Coastal Waters Forecast, brought to you by the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Today, we're looking at mostly smooth sailing with west winds around 5 knots, shifting to southeast in the afternoon. Seas are manageable at 1 foot. Tonight, expect southerly winds at 5 to 10 knots with seas creeping up to 2 feet. And for Thursday, keep an eye out for southwest winds around 10 knots and seas sitting at 2 feet.

Heading into late week, things may get a bit choppy as a cold front moves in, bringing increasing winds and some chance of showers. Friday into the weekend, expect north winds picking up to 15 to 20 miles per hour, with seas ranging from 3 to 5 feet, possibly even hitting 6 feet at times.

Remember, if you're out near inlets, exercise caution due to some potentially hazardous conditions. Always better to be safe than sorry out there!
