Alright, folks, let's dive into the coastal waters forecast for East Central Florida brought to you by the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida.

Today, we've got some southeast winds cruising at a comfortable 5 to 10 knots, switching it up to a breezier east direction at 10 to 15 knots later in the day. Expect seas of 3 to 4 feet with a mix of east waves at 3 feet and east waves at 2 feet. Looks like a moderate chop on the intracoastal waters.

Tonight, those southeast winds kick it up a notch to 10 to 15 knots, keeping the seas steady at 3 to 4 feet. Wave detail showing east waves at 3 feet and northeast waves at 3 feet. Just a light chop out there tonight.

Wednesday is when things start to pick up a bit more with southeast winds at 10 to 15 knots, escalating to 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Seas climbing to 4 to 5 feet, occasionally hitting 6 feet. Keep an eye out for those 5-foot east waves and 3-foot northeast waves dancing around. A chance of showers and thunderstorms rolling in as well.

As we look ahead to Wednesday night, southeast winds are really stretching their legs at 20 to 25 knots, pushing seas up to 5 to 7 feet, occasionally reaching 9 feet. The water might get a bit rough, with those showers rolling in and a chance of thunderstorms keeping things interesting.

Now, for a heads up on Thursday - tropical storm conditions might be making an appearance. Southeasterly winds are forecasted to be howling at 25 to 30 knots, possibly cranking up to 35 to 40 knots with gusts up to 50 knots. Seas looking at 7 to 9 feet, possibly up to 11 feet, building even more as the day goes on. Extremely rough conditions projected here.
