Hey there, guys and gals! Time to dive into the coastal waters forecast for East Central Florida. So, grab a cup of coffee and let's chat about what the weather has in store for us.
Today, we've got some not-so-friendly conditions on the horizon. With breezy onshore flow and building seas, it's not the best time to be out on the water. And hey, let's not forget about an approaching trough of low pressure that's making its way towards the southeastern U.S. coast.
For all you sailors out there, be cautious of those east to northeast winds ramping up to 15 to 20 knots across the offshore waters to the south of Sebastian, spreading through most of the waters tonight.
Now let's talk specifics. For Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line within 0-20 nautical miles, expect east winds at 10 to 15 knots today with seas ranging from 3 to 4 feet. Keep an eye out for a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms later on, but overall, not the best day for a leisurely boat ride.
As we move into the next few days, those seas are gonna churn a bit more. East winds will ramp up to 15 to 20 knots, and we're looking at seas ranging from 5 to 7 feet occasionally reaching up to 9 feet. So batten down the hatches - it's gonna be choppy out there!
Throughout the week, we've got a chance of showers with a side of thunderstorms rolling in, so make sure you've got those rain jackets handy.
