Alright folks, let's dive into some coastal waters forecasts for East Central Florida courtesy of the National Weather Service in Melbourne. So, what's the scoop for the waters from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet out to about 60 nautical miles?
Well, it looks like we've got some action happening out there. With Atlantic high pressure sliding southeast as a frontal boundary chills up north, we might see some weak surface disturbances popping up from the Gulf to the local Atlantic waters as we move through the week. This could bring us some isolated to scattered showers and lightning storms that may ramp up to become scattered to numerous by midweek. Keep an eye out for those!
Now, when it comes to the Gulf Stream, we're looking at south to southwest winds reaching around 15 to 20 knots offshore of Volusia and Brevard counties, so be prepared for that if you're venturing out.
For the more detailed inshore forecasts, here's what's on the horizon:
In the area from Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line within 0-20 nautical miles, expect west winds today shifting to southeast and then south, picking up in strength throughout the day. Seas ranging from 1 to 3 feet with a mix of showers, thunderstorms, and choppy waters.
As we move into the week, those south winds will continue to play a part, keeping things interesting with showers and storms likely.
If you're cruising from Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet within 0-20 nautical miles, similar patterns of winds and seas can be expected. So, stay tuned and keep an eye on the skies.
And if your journey takes you further out, from Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line and beyond, be prepared for some bumps with south winds 10 to 15 knots increasing, chances of thunderstorms, and seas ranging from 2 to 3 feet.
Remember, things can get a bit hairy near thunderstorms, so keep your wits about you and stay weather-aware out there!
