Hey there folks, and welcome back to your favorite coastal waters forecast for East Central Florida brought to you by the National Weather Service in Melbourne. Let's dive into what the ocean has in store for us today.

For those cruising along the Atlantic coastal waters from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet out 60 nautical miles, here's what you can expect. Continued wind directions shifting from west-southwest to east-southeast in the afternoon, thanks to that good ol' east coast sea breeze. We might see some isolated rain and lightning storms today, but don't worry, chances decrease as we head into the weekend. Now, keep your eyes peeled next week because we're expecting more rain and storms with some moisture making a return.

If you're planning to set sail, boating conditions should generally be smooth sailing aside from those passing storms. No major hazards to report in the Gulf Stream, just a heads up on its approximate location depending on where you are.

Now, let's take a closer look at specific areas:
For Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nautical miles:
Today, expect a mix of west and south winds with some showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Conditions should calm down tonight with a slight chance of more showers and storms.

As we sail into the weekend, west winds will be making way for southeasterly breezes, with waves predominantly in the 1 to 2 feet range. A light chop on the intracoastal waters, with a sprinkle of showers and thunderstorms to keep things interesting.

Remember, higher winds and waves are on the menu around thunderstorms, so keep an eye out.

And there you have it, folks! A peek into what the sea has in store for us today and beyond. Remember, always stay weather-aware and sail safe out there.
