Alright, folks! Time to dive into those coastal waters forecast for East Central Florida. Brought to you by the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
Overall, it's shaping up to be a mixed bag – think of it like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get, but here's your best guess 'cause we're cool like that.
For the area spanning from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet – minimal shower and storm chances with boating conditions looking mostly favorable. However, watch out for onshore winds as we head into the weekend, could make boating a bumpy ride.
The Gulf Stream hazards are giving us a pass, so that's a plus. And if you've ever pondered the Gulf Stream's whereabouts, well, it's been hanging out a bit east of various inlets – you know, just doing its oceanic current thing.
Moving on to the more nitty-gritty details for specific zones – like Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line – expect mild winds switching it up from northwest to northeast, seas around 1 to 2 feet today. A light chop on the intracoastal waters making it a perfect day for a smooth ride.
Further south towards Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet, similar vibes with varying winds and 1 to 2 feet seas.
And if you're cruising from Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet, expect some twists and turns with winds, seas around 1 to 2 feet, and a sprinkle of showers here and there to keep things interesting.
For those venturing farther out like Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 20-60 nm or Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 20-60 nm, hang onto your hats – winds picking up, seas slightly rougher, but nothing too extreme.
Remember folks, always keep an eye out for thunderstorms – they can definitely spice things up on the waters.
