Good morning, East Central Florida folks! It's time to dive into your coastal waters forecast, so grab your coffee and let's sail away with the latest updates from the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
Today, a cool front is on the move across the waters, bringing with it some changes. Boaters, brace yourselves as northerly winds will pick up speed throughout the day, reaching 20 to 25 miles per hour this afternoon, with seas building up to 6 to 8 feet and even higher at 7 to 9 feet tonight, especially out in the Gulf Stream.
For Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line within 20 nautical miles, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 11 AM this morning through Tuesday morning. Expect northwest winds clocking in at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with seas starting at 3 to 7 feet, possibly hitting 10 feet in the afternoon. So, it's essential to stay safe out there, especially if you're boating!
Make sure to keep an eye on the skies as there's a chance of showers in the afternoon. However, conditions are set to improve come Wednesday as a high-pressure ridge over the local Atlantic waters takes charge.
