Good morning, East Central Floridians! Time for your coastal waters forecast to keep you shipshape and informed. This is your local weather guru here to break down what Mother Nature has in store for us.
For those hitting the waters off Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet out to 60 nautical miles, here's what's brewing. We've got an Atlantic high pressure ridge sticking around South Florida through the weekend. Hold onto your hats, folks, as southerly winds are increasing ahead of a puny cool front making its way through by Monday.
The Gulf Stream? You're in the clear, no hazards there. Now, for boaters closer in, from Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line, get ready for some Southwest winds today, transitioning to Southeast later on. Seas are riding around 2 to 3 feet, so not too choppy out there.
Moving a bit south, for those sailing from Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet, expect a mix of South and Southwest winds with seas ranging around 2 to 3 feet. Saturday's looking pleasant, but keep an eye out for choppy waters Sunday afternoon.
For our friends cruising Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet within 20 nautical miles, winds will be dancing around from South to Southwest, with a potential increase to 15 to 20 knots by Sunday. Seas might see a bump up to 3 to 4 feet.
Thinking of venturing a bit farther out? From Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line, 20 to 60 nautical miles, you're looking at more Southwest winds today, with a possible subtle shift to the West by tomorrow.
And last but not least, for those navigating Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet out to the 20 to 60 nautical miles stretch, the weather's a mix of Southwest and South winds with seas of about 3 to 4 feet. Showers might be on the horizon Monday with a dash of thunderstorms.
Remember, East Central Florida, keep an eye on any pop-up thunderstorms for gusty winds and rougher seas, especially from Monday onwards.
