Hey there East Central Florida folks, are you ready for the latest on your coastal waters forecast from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet? Well, hold onto your hats because we've got quite the weather pattern heading our way!
A low pressure system drifting east along the Gulf coast is bringing the potential for a high coverage of rain and even isolated lightning storms. So prepare for some wet and wild conditions ahead! Boaters, take note - hazardous conditions are expected to develop early Friday with a brief period of Gale conditions possible offshore Friday night.
For all my sea-loving friends out there, be cautious as southeast winds will pick up to 15 to 20 knots tonight. Make sure to batten down the hatches because seas will be ranging from 2 to 3 feet, and a light chop on the intracoastal waters. And watch out for a chance of showers after midnight.
Friday rolls in with even stronger southeast winds, kicking up to 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon. Seas will rise to 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 7 feet - that's some serious wave action. Things are gonna get rough on the intracoastal waters, with showers and even a slight chance of thunderstorms on the horizon.
As we head into the weekend, the cold front crossing the area on Saturday night will maintain those hazardous boating conditions with strong and gusty north winds into Sunday. North winds of 20 to 25 knots are expected on Sunday, with seas at 7 to 9 feet and occasional higher seas.
