Coastal Waters Forecast Reveals Calm Seas and Shifting Winds Along East Central Florida

The National Weather Service Melbourne has released a comprehensive coastal waters forecast for the region stretching from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet, promising relatively mild maritime conditions in the coming days.

A high-pressure system across the Southeast is expected to weaken and settle across local Atlantic waters through Monday, bringing improving boating conditions. Reinforcing high pressure will subsequently build east across the area midweek.

Currently, winds are predominantly north to northeast, with seas ranging from 2 to 4 feet depending on the specific coastal zone. The Gulf Stream shows no significant hazards, with its western wall positioned between 13 and 49 nautical miles offshore, varying by location.

Mariners can expect moderate wind speeds mostly between 5 to 10 knots, with gradual directional shifts from north to west and back throughout the week. Intracoastal waters will predominantly remain smooth to experiencing only a light chop.

Wave periods are consistently around 8 to 9 seconds, indicating relatively stable sea conditions. Wave heights will fluctuate between 1 to 4 feet, with occasional peaks up to 6 feet in the Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet zone.

By Thursday night, winds are forecast to shift to easterly directions at 10 to 15 knots, bringing slightly rougher seas with wave heights increasing to 3 to 4 feet.

Boaters and coastal residents should monitor ongoing weather updates, but current predictions suggest a stable and predictable maritime environment for the upcoming week.
