Drama on a Friday

First, a look at the events of the day

Then, Suspense, originally broadcast August 10, 1958, 67 years ago, The Diary of Sophronia Winters starring Mercedes McCambridge.  A Lucille Fletcher horror story about a new bride, a madman, and an hotel with 125 deserted rooms!

Followed by Somebody Knows, originally broadcast August 10, 1950, 75 years ago, The Unsolved Murder of Samuel I. Paris.  On April 3, 1948, a Boston taxi driver is killed in a crash of his cab. It was no accident and is worth $5000 to anyone who can tell CBS whodunnit.

Then, The Mysterious Traveler, originally broadcast August 10, 1948, 77 years ago, The Visiting Corpse.  A man kills his obnoxious mother-in-law and puts her body in a trunk. However, she's not that easy to get rid of!

Followed by Quiet Please starring Ernest Chappell, originally broadcast August 10, 1947, 78 years ago, Bring Me to Life.  A script writer for "Quiet Please" has a typewriter that types by itself! Whatever is typed (such as "It was a stormy night") comes to pass!

Finally, Lum and Abner, originally broadcast August 10, 1942, 83 years ago, Trying Foreign Languages.  The boys try out some foreign languages on the baby to see if he recognizes any of them.
