As a Drama Teacher at Windsor High School, NSW Australia, between 1995 and 2001 I wrote and produced eight musical comedies.
Today I'll be taking you through six of the songs and stories related to my third musical: 'The Gods' Show', which was first performed by Windsor High School students in 1997 at The Richmond School of Arts in Richmond, NSW, Australia.
Female vocals - Jessica Zamprogno; all instruments and male vocals - me.
Show Programme
The Roman Gods are planning to take over Mount Olympus from the Greek Gods. Who will be their saviour? Not Rex Oedipus – he has a genetic disorder. Pluto’s magic potion has everyone falling in love with the wrong person (even Cerberus gets in on the act). Jupiter is jealous of his wife, Juno, who is in love with Pluto. Zeus is scared of his wife, Hera, who is in love with Pluto; Aphrodite and Athena love Pluto and Pluto loves himself. Add to this: two drunken yobbos, Dionysus and Poseidon; a mercurial Hermes; a feminist Artemis; a bunch of Roman gangsters; the rumour of a cricket match and a telecast of ‘Zeus – This is your Life’ by Solly and Rachel Oedipus aided by characters called Make-up and Wardrobe. So who will save the day?
