For posterity, Eric Westberg and Jeff Jackson join me as we tune into the early results of the 2020 American Election. Early numbers suggest things are neck and neck. This podcast was done to mark a point in time historically as we are living most interestingly during an interesting time. During a pandemic named COVID-19, Donald Trump is vying to be President for a second term challenged by Joe Biden, former Democratic Vice President under Barack Obama.
At the time of writing this up at 4:21 AM while we do not yet know the outcome of the election as there are many votes to count yet that were mailed in or collected at the various polls, Donald Trump announced a couple of hours ago - that while there may be votes outstanding he thinks there was fraud and that in fact he knows he has won. And if he has to, this will go to court. Prognosticators and general arm chair politicos I do not think are surprised. We discussed it in this episode. What is perhaps most telling is what we discussed in the former episode with Monica Kreuger and Kelley Moore - is just how important leadership, governance and engagement really is as evidenced by what is happening south of the border we share with our closest country neighbour.
Take care everyone.
Be safe.
Wash your hands.
Wear a mask.
