This week, we were excited to welcome Bryan Clark, the Senior Pastor Emeritus of Lincoln Berean Church, to speak. Bryan preached on Genesis 1:26-28, 31; 2:7-9 and 18-25 for his stand alone sermon on our view of God. In these verses, we learn about the first family—Adam and Eve—and how God created them to be a taste of the trinitarian relational love within himself. The purpose of family is to perpetuate the kingdom of God for generations.
But, unfortunately our families often fall far short of God's perfect love, and can negatively influence how we view our Father God. Instead, we must unpack our hidden insecurities and doubts that originated with our families of origin, in order to see God for who he truly is: perfect love that we can fully trust. Praise God!
