we dive into the two contrasting theories surrounding the death of Qin Shi Huang and the succession of Hu Hai. According to Records of the Grand Historian by Sima Qian, a conspiracy involving Zhao Gao and Li Si led to Hu Hai’s rise and the tragic deaths of his brothers. We analyze both theories, their credibility, and the political context of the time, ultimately shedding light on how Hu Hai’s ascension set the stage for the fall of the Qin Dynasty.
