With 264 first-grade appearances, 3 Premierships, 4 Grand Final Appearances, 3 World Club Challenges, 4 Minor Premierships, and 1 Origin appearance, Jake Friend has cemented himself as a Roosters and NRL legend. But it hasn't all been smooth sailing.

Sacked by the Sydney Roosters as a 19 year old after repeated indiscretions with the law, Friend took up a job cutting vegetables and making coffee in a sandwich shop before returning to the game and winning three premierships for the Roosters.

Friend tells Steve Gillis what drove him to his miracle comeback, how he takes full responsibility for his actions and how he miraculously avoided death following a rib injury suffered in a match.
