In this episode, Jenny and Kayla discuss why "self-care" isn't enough for modern mothers. You're probably familiar with the typical self-care activities like getting a manicure, taking a bubble bath, or getting a massage. Still, they often add more tasks to our overflowing to-do lists without making us feel any better.
Jenny offers some simple, practical steps for busy moms. She emphasizes the importance of being intentional and authentic with our self-care. Rather than adding more tasks to our plates, we need to identify what makes us feel alive and prioritize it because no one else will do it.
However, there are significant obstacles to self-care, such as financial constraints, lack of time, feelings of guilt, and a sense of low self-worth. It's time to take charge and start prioritizing ourselves while letting go of the guilt. We all deserve and need the same level of care and love that we give to others.
Let's stand up against the patriarchy and embrace genuine self-care. We'll learn how incorporating these practices can improve our mental health and well-being. By taking care of ourselves first, we can show up with more love for ourselves for those around us. After all, a CHILL mom is a force to be reckoned with!
