Fluoroquinolone antibiotics are widely prescribed in the US despite a growing number of serious adverse effects associated with their use. One of these adverse effects is QTc prolongation which can lead to lethal arrhythmias. A recent study evaluates in patients on hemodialysis are at an even higher risk.
