Rep. Roger Goodman is a Democrat, and he says the first thing he does when he writes a new piece of legislation is head over to the Republican side of the House to sign up cosponsors. It's a system that works, and over the last decade he's been one of Olympia's most successful lawmakers. He chairs the House Public Safety Committee, and a good number of the bipartisan bills he's seen become law are designed to keep drunks off the roadways, and end the often-hidden terror of domestic violence. We'll talk about these things and more on today's "Capitol Ideas."
