Jared is a native Utahn, a business leader, thoughtful religious man, and really doesn’t care about all the little stuff. Jared has faced some hard things and being able to identify that correctly is important. We talk about the issue of having to handle personal things while still moving in on one’s career. Many consider people who have reached success in business and careers to have achieved the easy point in life, but in reality life often will continue to be challenging and success can even bring on new issues/challenges that weren’t there before. Jared lost his son to cancer and talks about that experience, and then what helps the most when people reach out and remember him.

“By 19 I enlisted in the Navy and I was off to boot camp, and that was another set of skills that helped me and shaped me in a way to have structure and dedication, and realizing that I can do hard things, and when things get hard, you take those experiences and you put them in the cookie jar. Every time you’re in a place where you’re struggling, you can reach back in the cookie jar and remember those experiences to help you get further on.” 2:59
