Today I'm sharing my experiences with COVID. Yes, it got me too. I had managed to escape coming down with it, until I travelled for the first time in two years by aeroplane to travel to Tasmania for a conference. It got me, and it got me good!
The first symptom, that is unusual, was cystitis (an aggravated bladder). Initially, I thought that I had a kidney infection (not sure where I would have go that), but the urgent need to visit the loo was alarming and uncomfortable to say the least.
I arrived home from Tasmania on a Saturday night at around 7 pm, and by 10pm the full COVID symptoms hit my like a truck. Aches, pains, fever, chills, headache, sore throat and runny nose. It was not good.
The major symptoms lasted 3 days, followed by 7 to 10 days recovering.
Each day I enjoyed a pot of homemade red lentil and vegetable soup and a freshly prepared juice. I ensured that every meal I had was light and nutrient rich to aid my recovery.
What I didn't expect was the fatigue and lingering cough that literally floored me.
My energy levels were depleted, and coughing fits were just awful. This lasted for some weeks, and I've only just recovered.
I hope this short podcast explaing the unusal initial symptom of COVID that I experienced helps you to look out for symptoms that are not listed as popular.
Stay safe, keep well, and smiles from me.
