Patrick worked in the corporate world for 22 years, a large part in the commercial side of mobile technology. He and his wife rose up the corporate ladder, moved their family and kids to Asia after promotion as regional directors. Yet Patrick was not happy with corporate lifestyle, and his frequent burn out by being available 24/7 to the globally connected corporate world caused weight loss and health issues, as well as a strain on family relationships with so little quality time for them.
In this interview, we discuss the structure for why and how he got out, the plan he set for his year off, his personal profit and loss plan for managing his finances during his career transition, deadlines for success, volunteering and the importance of feedback from others, and how he found balance back into his life.
