79. The Vanishing Newlyweds: The Enigma of the Busan Disappearance

The "Busan Newlywed Couple Disappearance" is one of South Korea’s most puzzling missing persons cases. In May 2016, newlyweds Jeon Min-geun and Choi Jin-hee mysteriously vanished from their apartment without a trace. Despite surveillance cameras covering the building, no footage showed them leaving. The investigation revealed strange clues, including messages sent in Choi’s unusually formal tone and a large bank transfer by Jeon before his disappearance. Suspicion grew around Yoon, Jeon’s ex-girlfriend, who harbored deep resentment towards him and had returned to Korea shortly before the couple vanished. Yoon’s secretive behavior and abrupt departure from Korea raised alarms, but her extradition from Norway was denied due to insufficient evidence. The case remains unsolved, with no confirmed sightings of the couple since their disappearance.
