In this episode, the darkest moment in Olympic history is revisited: the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. The event began with members of the Palestinian group "Black September" infiltrating the Olympic Village, taking eleven Israeli athletes hostage, and demanding the release of Palestinian prisoners. Despite attempts by the West German police to rescue the hostages through negotiation and a poorly executed sniper operation, the terrorists killed all the hostages. The tragedy led to international shock, the creation of Germany’s special forces unit GSG-9, and Israel's retaliatory Operation Wrath of God, targeting those responsible. The massacre left a lasting scar on global sports and deepened the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
