The 2002 crash of China Airlines Flight CI611, which disintegrated mid-air en route from Taipei to Hong Kong, resulted in the deaths of all 225 passengers and crew members. Investigations revealed the crash was caused by a crack in the plane’s tail section, left unrepaired after a 1980 landing accident and concealed by improper maintenance. Over 22 years, the crack expanded until the fuselage failed. This avoidable tragedy was compounded by false repair reports and missed opportunities to detect the flaw. Additionally, a mysterious voicemail linked to the crash circulated, deepening the mystery and public shock surrounding the event.
