The Geylang Bahru Four Siblings Murder is one of Singapore's most horrifying unsolved cases. On January 6th, 1979, four young siblings were brutally murdered in their home while their parents were away. The bodies of Tan Kok Peng (10), Tan Kok Hin (8), Tan Kok Soon (6), and Tan Chin Nee (5) were discovered in the bathroom, with severe knife wounds. The police found no signs of forced entry, suggesting the murderer was someone familiar with the family.
Several leads emerged, including a neighbor who saw an adult hitting a child and a taxi driver who reported driving a blood-covered man the morning of the crime. The man, familiar to the Tan family, was questioned but released due to lack of evidence. Later, a malicious anonymous card was sent to the parents, further taunting them. Despite extensive investigations, including possible connections to the Tan couple’s past in loan sharking, the case went cold.
Forty years later, the mystery remains unsolved, and the brutal crime continues to haunt the memories of those involved.
