II Thessalonians 2:3-4 (KJV) The apostle Paul says:
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
In 2017, God called the word "restrain" to my attention. I remembered that word in the NASB of II Thessalonians 2.
When I read verse 6, I said to God, "What is it that restrains antichrist?"
Instantly I knew the restraint against antichrist was the scripture. As soon as portions of scripture were removed from the churches, antichrist moved into the churches and set up his own doctrine.
Antichrist does not repent and he does not show any shame when he is confronted with the truth.
Antichrist twists the scripture and alters doctrine and congregations often love the change in the doctrines for now they can commit sins without the restraint that was once there in scripture.
They are now free to sin and be approved by churches who have changed the doctrine of Christ and no longer speak of sin.
The true Christians want freedom from sin so they will continue to cling to scripture for by scripture they free themselves from sins by following the scriptures.
