E17 What Rational Thought Can and Cannot Do! |IBGR | Donna Kunde & Londina Cruz “Never make crucial decisions when angry. The rage that clouds judgment fades and only its consequences linger thereafter.”― Stewart Stafford It is important to remember that our automatic mechanism can function as a FAILURE MECHANISM just as easily as it functions as a SUCCESS MECHANISM. The difference depends on the data you give it to process and the goals you set for it. It is a goal striving mechanism and will find a match for whatever data you give it. Many of us subconsciously and unknowingly set FAILURE GOALS when we hold negative attitudes and constantly picture failure in our imagination. This is key - your automatic mechanism does not reason about or question the data you feed it. It just processes what you give it and reacts appropriately to it. It is very important to give the automatic mechanism true facts at all times without adding perceptions or interpretations.
