E37 Response Is Good. Over-Response Is A Bad Habit |IBGR | Donna Kunde & Londina Cruz

1. “Every intention is a trigger for transformation.”-- Deepak Chopra 2. Outside triggers happen to each one of us throughout the day. The external stimulus from our environment suddenly changes our intentions. For example, you might be sitting quietly preparing to do some work when all of a sudden the phone rings. When we get a phone call, most of us rush to answer it without even thinking. This outside stimulus moves us into action without us even thinking about it. 3. The point is this: You do not HAVE to answer the phone. You do not have to obey any outside stimulus. You can choose to totally ignore it. 4. Now see yourself sitting quietly and choosing to ignore the phone. Even though you are aware of it ringing, you no longer obey it. The phone has no power over you any more and does not move you into action. In the past you responded out of habit. Now you can form a new habit of not responding. Also notice that not responding does not consist of “doing something” or making an effort or resisting or fighting. You merely relax and ignore the stimuli. How could life be different using this method?
