Today’s episode is very special to me.  The thought is not original to me.  The Five “Dangerous” Prayers, was preached by my mentor in ministry, the late Rev. Kenneth Humbers, over 25 years ago. 

Thankfully, he passed these notes down to me.  Today’s episode is filled with exact quotes from his notes mixed with my own. 

I dedicate this episode of the podcast to his memory. He believed in me,  he corrected me, he directed me, he preached me, he loved me and most of all, he prayed for me. He taught me that standing for right isn’t always easy, but it is always necessary. 

I must warn you, these five “dangerous” prayers are not easy to pray, but they are guaranteed to change your life forever.  

The 5 prayers we’ll talk about today are not “safe” prayers. 

They are surrender prayers… 

They are prayers that will move you out of your comfort zone and into the miracle zone.

Five “Dangerous” Prayers:

1.  Search Me.

Psalms 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

2. Break Me.

Psalms 51:17
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

3.  Stretch Me (Increase my faith)

Luke 17:5
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 

Increase means add to, grow or stretch…

4.  Lead Me.

Proverbs 3:6
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

5. Use me.

Isaiah 6:8
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

The use me is a prayer of willingness.  

Isaiah was saying, here I am Lord, I’m available, use me. 

I’ve never seen anyone that sincerely prayed these prayers not be powerfully used by God.
