Need to exchange your currency!

Imagine going to a foreign country that does not accept the currency of your native country. And so, you get there and try to transact business.

The first thing you need to do is obviously exchange your currency for that country's currency so you can transact business in that country. Right? That will be the only way to do business there.

Similarly in a relationship, we need to exchange our currency to "do business" with our spouse. Your spouse will only take you seriously when you choose to use the currency of "her country."

But here's what happens: Sometimes we try to force our spouse to accept our currency and we wonder why it is not working.
