Boeing has withdrawn its request for a temporary exemption from certification rules for its 737 Max 7 aircraft. The exemption was requested due to a potential overheating risk caused by an engine anti-ice system.
United Airlines and Alaska has resumed using its Boeing 737 MAX 9 jets for passenger flights.
Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has expressed interest in picking up early deliveries of the Boeing 737 Max 10 if United Airlines decides not to take them. O'Leary defended the Max aircraft, stating that United's comments about removing the Max 10 from its internal planning were not helpful. Ryanair has 150 Max 10s on order, with deliveries starting in 2027.
Turkish Airlines has signed a deal with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) to lease 10 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The agreement, announced on January 29, 2024, will see the aircraft transferred to Turkish Airlines in 2025
