- Trump’s tariffs finally went into effect on what he dubbed “Liberation Day.” While the long-term goal is worthy, I am concerned about higher short-term prices hurting Americans.
- I’m hearing a lot about ways Trump could skirt the 22nd amendment and secure a 3rd term. To be blunt, I think term limits should be mandatory for all elected offices, and that Trump should take his wins and go be a Kingmaker.
- If NPR and PBS had stayed non-partisan, people probably wouldn’t be calling to defund them. But given their extreme leftist bias and the staggering national debt, the government shouldn’t be given them any funding at all.
- A top leader of the gang MS-13, Joel Vargas- Escobar AKA “Momia,” is in FBI custody. Another win over violent crime by the Trump administration!
- The FCC has announced they will be investigating Disney & ABC over their alleged use of discriminatory DEI practices.
- As expected, Elon Musk will be stepping back from DOGE in the next month, though he will remain available as an advisor. Given the ridiculous anti-DOGE leftist protests targeting TESLA, this is welcome news for his stockholders at least.
- China, never our friend, is now blocking sales of crucial minerals to the USA. We absolutely must reduce our reliance on foreign goods.
- Tracy Cram Perkins dropped by this week to discuss her experiences with home dementia care, and how they led to her developing a book and webcast to help others navigate their own journeys.
- Biden used his final days in office to add the insults of seriously damaging the oil and gas industry and giving medals to morons to the injury of pardoning hardened criminals (and, you know, pretty much all of his acts as president).
- Mortgage have topped 7% for the first time since mid-2024. This is a worrying indicator that 2025 will not be a good year for the housing market – which plays a key role in the overall health of the economy.
- The courts have found that school officials do not have qualified immunity and thus have no special protection against claims that they’ve violated an individual’s rights.
- Stanley K. Ridgley, friend of the show and expert in pervasive leftist radicalization in higher education, dropped by Saving America this week to chat about his new book “DEI Exposed: How the Biggest Con of the Century Almost Toppled Higher Education”
- Trump is getting bipartisan push-back on the limits he imposed in his first term on federal deductions for state and local taxes (SALT), but he has indicated he’s pushing for a “fair” increase.
