Strangeways Prison in Manchester, England, was all over the news in 1990 thanks to a 25-day riot by prisoners over conditions inside the Victorian jailhouse. Back in 1980 TV cameras went inside to find out what life inside was like, and even then things were pretty grim.
We look at the 1980 documentary series and discuss the rights and wrongs of the prison system and how best to treat people who have broken the law.
It's a heavier episode than usual with some hard-hitting music from Four Marks to match, with the London duo's track Paradise (Act 1). You can find more from the band here: https://fourmarks.bandcamp.com.
